you may say i’m a strange poet
i run from pens
unsure if i possess valor
sense danger sentences away
on these pages
it knows exactly what it will say
if i let it, but
i hide it until it’s late enough
rising relentlessly to write everything-
how poetic:
to love and fear as one
is almost as cliché as a strange poet.
